Thirty years ago, after Planet Zi was deemed no longer inhabitable, humanity and the few remaining Zoidians left. Traveling through the stars, they sought a planet similar enough to their own that it would be easy enough to inhabit. With them came a sparse amount of Zoids, large mechanical beasts that had been native to the planet since before humanity set foot there, as well as a few Zoid cores, the beasts 'hearts.' The glory days of the large beasts being commonplace, a part of society and entertainment, had ended, and this was all that was left. Such days were thought to be over, but humanity still survived and even thrived, continuing with steady technological growth; that was the important part.
It didn't take long to find the new planet Magna, a very inhabitable planet that in fact even had a small population of humans, as well as the strange beastfolk that were, at the time, the dominant race on the planet. It couldn't be said they took well to the sudden influx of millions of humans, nor their mechanical beasts, but the beastfolk were by no means technological; ultimately, there was nothing they could do but slowly be forced out of their old lands and into whatever places they could find for themselves. Slavery began to run rampant for a few years, before the government and military finally began to intervene after a massive outcry, and it was, for the most part, wiped away. Beastfolk still largely took to their own solitary lives, but upon being granted even such a level of equality with the official abolishment of slavery, some began to integrate, though the task was difficult on either end.
Then came the exodus, of sorts. Perhaps it was the planet Magna itself; perhaps it was the Zoids and Zoid cores that had been brought from Zi, as well as the few Organoids that had been brought as well, awakening to a further nature. Some 25 years after the few Zoids that remained set foot on the soil of the new planet, few slowly turned into many. Some people were excited, some began to panic and worry, and through it all the government itself began to intervene, turning into the Zoids Management Association and placing itself to preside over all things Zoid-related. Hardly happy with them suddenly taking so much power for themselves, the military that had immediately previous to that been the main force in charge of the planet started to distance itself from the newly-shifted government. Believing more in the dangers of Zoids than the benefits, they nonetheless turned some of the strangely growing population of Zoids to their purposes, taking many for use in their jobs.
Five years after that sudden influx, and the storm that it caused has seemingly settled fairly well, but tensions still remain between the military and ZMA, and ordinary people have even begun to organize into 'teams' for various purposes here and there, whether as cohesive units to gain fame in battle circuits or even rebel units outside either the military or ZMA. Magna seems calm for now, but for how much longer?
