actions
Defined by a Zoid's Speed stat, actions are how many actions a can be taken with a Zoid in battle within a single round of combat, with a round being defined as approximately 15 seconds in in-character time. They are the prime focus of sanctioned battle here on Zoids Revolution, and what you do with them ultimately depends on you. That said, there are multiple pre-defined actions you can take, as listed below:
-Attack: Attack using one of a Zoid's weapons.
-Evade: Attempt to avoid an oncoming attack.
-Combat Feat: Use an applicable combat feat that requires its own action.
-Summon Organoid: Summon an Organoid into combat to support your Zoid. Not necessarily required if the Organoid is OL7 or above.
-Focus: Stall a Zoid momentarily to regain some stability. Increases a Zoid's Stability and Responsiveness stats by twice the character's CL for the next three actions.
arenas and special battles
Long gone are the days of mundane, basic arenas; rather, it's the whole planet of Magna that provides potential arenas, no matter where the place or venue. As such, battles can be fought under any number of conditions; even over pits of lava if it truly suits those involved, though such highly dangerous locales as these are quite rarely used for such a purpose. Nonetheless, the ZMA is often happy to spare little cost in providing an interesting, entertaining arena, with all sorts of different hazards and tricks. Have an arena type you want? Feel free to request it, and it can likely be found or made somewhere on Magna.
In regards to special battles, combatants can, through a battle request, request special rules for combat. All melee weapons, perhaps, or on an arena that keeps the Zoids separate from each other such that longer-ranged attacks are the only option, or even endurance matches where both Zoids are bound by something and can barely move, if at all. Largely speaking, anything goes for arenas or special rules, so long as they don't too badly risk the lives of the pilots or even Zoids.
judging
Battle judgements will take into account two different things: actions taken and their order, and the player's own writing. The better a battle post is written, the greater the chance for the action's success (not defined in specifics; ultimately, it's up to the judge). As well, if your battle post has any inconsistencies from the battle summary, it will reduce the chance that your attacks or dodges will be effective. In terms of your battle post, it should look something like this:
(battle narrative)
Battle Summary
Action 1. xxx
Action 2. xxx
(character and zoid stats)
Per the stat system, there will be both RNG and judge discretion between the stats themselves and the actual quality of writing involved in the judging process. If there is ever a dispute, it can be brought up with staff, and the judge or player in question will be allowed to present their side of it in turn so that it can best be resolved fairly and peacefully.
